On October 29, 2015 at the "Quirinale" – official residence of the President of the Italian Republic in Rome, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Italian Republic Sergey Nurtayev presented credentials to the Italian President Sergio Mattarella.


President of Italy warmly welcomed Kazakhstan's Ambassador and congratulated him on this appointment, wishing further success in promoting the Kazakh-Italian strategic partnership.


At the end of the official ceremony the Kazakh Ambassador had a brief conversation with the Head of the Italian state, where he noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations in politics, economy, education and cultural spheres, stressing that the current level of bilateral cooperation was gained mainly due to high level agreements on strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Italy. The Parties agreed on the necessity to give additional impulse for trade and economic cooperation. In particular, they discussed in detail the nearest upcoming events on the bilateral agenda. The Kazakh diplomat assured that he would fully implement his duties and look for new ways to deepen and intensify relations between two countries. In this context the Kazakh side announced its intention to organize the visit of the Italian Prime-Minister Matteo Renzi to Kazakhstan in the nearest future.
The Italian President, in his turn, noted the growing role of Kazakhstan in the modern world and the rapid development of the country, stressing the importance of further development of friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Italy.


Negotiations with the Italian leadership showed significant potential for intensification of bilateral contacts, as well as the willingness of the Italian side to further develop strategic cooperation with Kazakhstan in particular areas of mutual interest.

On October 7, 2015 the Embassy of Republic of Kazakhstan in Italy in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Advanced Studies in Geopolitics and Auxiliary Sciences (Istituto di Alti Studi in Geopolitica e Scienze Ausiliarie, IsAG) organized a conference in the Parliament of the Italian Republic “The law and the institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan (APK).

It was the English writer, Charles Dickens, who once wrote, “Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration.”
 
Home is indeed a powerful idea.


Home protects, it unites, it shelters. Kazakhstan is home for Kazakhs, ethnic Russians, Ukrainians, Byelorussians, Uzbeks, Germans, indeed for more than 130 ethnic groups. This nation has been formed by a particularly rich complex of experiences: successive waves of invasion, immigration and migration, a potent mix of cultures and traditions which have flowed together to make us what we are today.

Background to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate


•    The Kazakh Khanate was founded by Ghengisid Sultans (Princes) Kerey and Zhanibek in 1465.
•    The Khanate was located roughly on the territory of present-day Kazakhstan and was the first separate state of the Kazakhs, a Turkic-speaking, formerly nomadic people inhabiting the vast Eurasian steppe plains between Altai mountains in the east and the Caspian sea in the west, Siberian taiga in the north and Tian Shan mountains in the south.

Kazakhstan celebrates the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate


ASTANA, September 10 – During September and October, Kazakhstan will celebrate the 550th anniversary of the formation of the Kazakh Khanate. The Khanate, which has existed from 1465 into the early 18th century, is considered to have played an important role in the emergence of a Kazakh nation. The foundation date is known from the study known as Tarikh-i-Rashidi authored by a 16th century Central Asian historian Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat.
